Okay, I’ve been looking up publishers for books and magazines in my genres, and just general steps for getting published and guidelines for manuscripts. I may as well try getting some of my already completed short stories published so I’m at least getting somewhere while I finish my children’s stories. I’ll continue reading up on things I ought to know and try submitting to a few different magazines. And I must keep working on my stories, too, so I can get them finished. Finished is good. *nods*

When I was looking into getting my work published, I came across a harsh reality via a writer friend of mine: gifts.

A lot of publishers receive _so_ many requests, that they need an incentive to even give your work a passing glance.

Incentives being: a nice bottle of wine, a gift certificate for dinner at a nice restaurant, cash, a nice watch, etc...

I was told to just think of something along those lines that I could include in the package with a copy of my finished work. Now what I don't know is if that's just for the big publishers, most publishers, or all publishers...because I know that there are indy publishers out there, looking for a big thing and looking to make a name for themselves.

Best wishes...you were a splendid creative talent on FR. I hope you follow through and share it with the rest of the literary community.

Hm, most of the sites I've come across offering tips for writers have said to avoid "gimmicks" and such. Thank you for the support though. :)
