Oh, dear... The show Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader makes me sad for humanity. There was this southern girl from American Idol on it. The question was, "Budapest is the capital of what European country?". She asked, "This might sound like a stupid question..." Jeff Foxworthy: "I'll bet it is." Her: "I thought Europe was a country." Then she went on to say that she thinks they speak French in Budapest. But she said she didn't think France was a country. ... ... ... Holy crap. But she went ahead and guessed France. The kid got the answer in about two seconds and she used an option to copy his answer and managed to get it right that way. But seriously, wtf? How do people like that function in society?

Oh...my...God. Which season is this girl from on American Idol? I swear, people like this aren't making our country look good. It's scary that more people know about our history and geography as well as other countries than we do. I honestly wish they make history and geography important subjects in school (it was manditory for me to graduate with history).

Hell, I know what the country is Budapest is a capital of....Hungary. I mean...what the hell are they teaching these kids these days?
